This Tablet Comes In Colors
Color is all over the place with this new Acer tablet. It must be great to be able to put out a mobile product that gives people a choice. This tablet does not just come in boring black but nice deep cranberry red as well. The size of the display is the same as the Apple iPad, at 10.1 inches. The tablet is chunky, but not overly so. It is nearly half an inch in thickness. The screen is clear, but still made with older LCD, not AMOLED material.
The Hardware Statistics Look Good For This Tablet
The Acer Iconia Tab A200 is not a slow tablet. It comes packed with a Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor. Dual core is not only faster, this one is crusing at one gigahertz, but efficient as well. The battery will be able to last for eight hours per recharge with the Tegra 2 system. The internal storage is in two levels, eight and 16 gigabytes. The good news is that the larger memory model is just $20 dollars more than the eight gigabyte tablet.
Ice Cream Sandwich Is Coming In The Near Future
The android update that most people are looking for will be a task for future Acer A200 tablet owners. They will be getting this tablet in version 3.2 also called “Honeycomb”. Since android tablets are easier to upgrade than smartphones, the promised update to Ice Cream Sandwich should go off without a hitch. The only drawback is that the upgrade does not arrive till next month.
External Connections For The Acer Iconia A200
The Acer factories gave their Iconia A200 tablet one camera. It is on the front of the slate and is rated at two megapixels of power. Since this tablet is a bit thick, it also has side connectors for MicroUSB and a customary 3.5 millimeter head phone jack. A Micro SD card slot is also located on the side of this Acer tablet. For wireless connectivity, the tablet has the usual Wi-Fi modes and an outdated bluetooth radio. Bluetooth is up to version 4.0 and this tablet has it in version 2.1. This tablet has been available in Europe and will be in the United States within two weeks. The price is reasonable at $330 dollars.
