There are millions of websites and articles all about how to get Google to give you a high page rank, and almost zero about why you should get a high page rank. It’s implied that a high page rank helps your site become more powerful and make you money, but it’s not something that happens automatically. Before your page rank can turn into cash, you need to know what to do with that power.
In Google’s eyes
Depending on what your page rank is, whether it is at a page rank zero to two, three to six, or seven to ten will give you an idea of what Google thinks of your site.
- If you are at a zero to two rank, you are a new or lightly used website and Google just acknowledges your petty existence.
- A page rank of three to six will be most sites that are serious about what they do. Anything a year old or more with back links going to it will generally end up as a three to six.
- Seven to ten is an impossible and pointless goal for the average Joe website. Seven to ten is reserved for industry leaders such as You Tube, Wikipedia, and other big name sites.

Rent your rank out
Your page rank score is valuable. If you have a blog that has a high page rank, you can lend that out to other people who want to boost their own page rank. By posting an article on your site with a guest link back to another website, you’re both supporting each other; the guest blogger gets a higher standing with Google, and you get more viewers of your content, which should translate into more money. It can help you catch more of those long-tail search results, making your site stronger and more lucrative.
Compare yourself to the competition
From the fact that Google has given a ranking to your website, you can figure out how well your specific site is doing compared to your competitors. Go onto your competitor’s site and see what their rank is; if they have a higher ranking than you, they probably have more back links than you, and you will want to increase your articles per month. If you are on top of the competition for your niche, you will be higher up in search results and get more viewers, which brings in more revenue.
Page rank gives you a goal
Using Google’s page rank number as a quantifiable goal is another good way to keep tabs on your site. At the end of every month at first, or every six months down the road, check your site’s page rank and document it. That will tell you where you are at in a number that can be compared to previous numbers and tell you if you are moving in the right direction.
In summary, here are the reasons you should try for a high page rank
– You get more traffic because people can find your site
– You can rent out your page rank for free content
– It tells you where you are at in Google’s opinion
– You can use it to check your competition
– It’s quantifiable and easy to document progress
Boosting your page rank helps your site become more lucrative and gain more viewers, which will help you get guest articles that will help you make even more money and improve your page rank even more. This cycle will help your revenue snowball into a large sum each month. If your page rank is low, put some time and effort into improving it, because it will translate into cash sooner or later.
