Most people approach SEO with an injustice – or favoritism – about what are your best keywords are. They are usually completely or partially wrong.
There are five major mistakes to avoid when choosing keywords:
1] Many website owners (especially in business-to-business) make the mistake of trying to rank highly esoteric on the supply side and terminology. For example, a client of mine was very happy to be in the top 10 on Google for “model trees and shrubs, “because it was the language of the offer for its principal (the import of large trees and shrubs).
2] However, less than 10 people per month worldwide search the sentence. My client would have been much better optimize “seedlings wholesale”, which attracts a lot of important volume of research. In short, an excellent search engine location was useless to him because he never gave rise to traffic.
3] Many webmasters do not want to rank well for simple words (Instead of strings of words). You might be surprised to hear that (Based on research by portusbhub.com) 33% of all investigations Search engines are two-word combinations, 26% for three words, and 21% for four or more words. Only 20% of the population the search for individual words. Why is it a surprise, though?
Is not that what you do when you are looking for? Even if you start with one word are the results you get usually not specific enough (if you try to add words to refine your search).
It is therefore vital that the keyword analysis is firmly based on objective facts about what people rather than research their subjective guess on what they use.
4] People tend to copy their competitors when choosing words used without a detailed study of what people really look and how many competing sites are already these terms. Good SEO is to find phrases that are paying relatively popular with investigators, but relatively little used by its competitors.
5] Keywords some webmasters use too many in places (So called keyword stuffing) and under utilization of related keywords. Many readers find these pages and annoying spam filters Google search these models are unnatural, and punish them! Instead much better to make liberal use of synonyms and other words related to their master plan.
This process (often involving a thesaurus) is what professionals call information ontological analysis.
Keyword Discovery, the first step, the process is to find all keywords and key phrases that are most relevant to your site business plan.
